After having taken piano lessons for many years in grade school, I bought my first keyboard (an Ensoniq Mirage), and it snowballed from there...

More gear followed throughout the latter part of high school and into university, and I'm proud to say that I still own most of the things I've purchased over the years. The only things I've parted with are an 8-channel Yamaha mixer, and an Alesis HR-16 drum machine (I traded this for the Kawai K1m, and I used to wonder if I should have done this, but now that I've got the SR-16, I don't anymore ;-).

Anyway, I was writing my own material for a while, including a chance to write music for a local (Cambridge) high-school musical, as well as performing it (that was in 1990). Once I got out of University, and into the "real world", I had less and less time for playing. The move down to NJ at first brought a smaller living space, which meant the music gear was mostly in storage.

That had meant a fairly lengthy hiatus from playing, but in 2000, I started playing with my church's Worship Team. I was the sole keyboardist for several years (and now one of two, which has been great!). I'm always trying to improve, and got to the point where I became involved in a band called Reverential with my friend Dan and a few others.

As of September, 2006, Reverential went from being a full band to a duo, playing more electronica/rock than traditional rock, but, thanks to Dan's songwriting chops, doing mostly original material. I'm taking piano lessons again, which has been wonderful, and has really been developing my skills.
